Chroma Shine Shellac Removal Steps
Here's how to remove Shellac or any other semi-permanent nail polish at home:
What you'll need:
- Acetone (or a specific remover for semi-permanent polishes)
- Cotton balls or pads
- Nail foils or aluminum foil
- Nail file
Procedure:
-
Prepare your nails: Start by lightly buffing the surface of your Shellac polish. This will help the remover penetrate better.
-
Soak the cotton: Cut small pieces of cotton and soak them in acetone or the specific remover for semi-permanent polishes.
-
Wrap your fingers: Place the soaked cotton on your nail and wrap it tightly with nail foils or aluminum foil. Make sure the cotton is in contact with the Shellac polish.
-
Let it sit: Leave the foils or aluminum foil on your nails for about 10-15 minutes. This will give the remover time to soften and dissolve the Shellac polish.
-
Remove the polish: After leaving it on for enough time, you can start to remove the cotton and foils. Use a wooden stick or cuticle pusher to gently lift off the softened polish. You can scrape off the rest very carefully.
-
Moisturize your nails: After removing the Shellac polish, moisturize your nails thoroughly using cuticle cream or cuticle oil.
